I would like to express how fortunate I am to have the chance to meet some of the Heroes among us. I met SrA Kevin O’Brien and his mother Betty when they were faced with the need for hospitalization. I received the gift of a lifelong friendship that day.
Below is the letter Jen received from Betty O’Brien
I reached out to Jen DeLuca at the Fisher House 16 months ago, When I had NO IDEA how I would be able to stay in Boston to be with my son and manage his care, Jen facilitated housing for me so I never had to leave Kevin’s side in over 80 days. Jen was ALWAYS there. No questions asked. I expressed the need and she met it EVERY time. Going above and beyond. Not having to worry about housing truly helped Kevin’s recovery. We are so blessed and cannot thank Jen and Fisher House enough for everything we received then and continue to receive.
To ease the burden of our Veterans and their families during difficult times. To serve those who have served.
Fisher House Boston’s mission is to be responsive to the needs of our guests and go above and beyond what the VA can provide. We strive to meet the basic comfort needs of our guests, as well as enhance the healing and supportive environment of the house, during some of the most difficult times in our guest lives.
With your support, we have provided more than 40,000 tickets to wounded, injured, and ill service members and their families, worth over $73 million (average savings per ticket is currently about $1,400).
