Gary J. Comeau, (A.F.& A.M.) has served the Fisher House of Boston’s Board of Directors since 2020. Prior to his appointment on this Board, he served in the United States Army in both the Active Component and Army National Guard, retiring as a Command Sergeant Major.

Gary’s professional military education includes graduation from the United States Army Sergeant’s Major Academy, First Sergeant’s Course, Advanced Non-Commissioned Officer Course, Army and Marine Corps Basic Non-Commissioned Officer Course, and Primary Leadership Development Course. He is a graduate of the U.S. Army Ranger Course, Airborne and Air Assault Schools, Total Army Instructor Development School and many other courses.

His military service includes operations in Afghanistan, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Iraq, Korea, Central Asian States and other nations. Among Gary’s listed military awards are the Legion of Merit Award, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medals, and Army Commendation Medals. Gary’s service decorations include the Ranger Tab, the Combat Infantryman Badge, Combat Action Badge, Parachute and Air Assault Badges, and is an inductee to the Order of Saint Maurice.

Gary is a proud alum of Norwich University, where he earned his Master’s degree in Leadership as well as Endicott College, where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. He is active in the Veteran community, as a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans Association and National Infantry Association.

He lives with his family in North Andover, Massachusetts, where he is currently serves the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Gary’s indelible passion for the welfare of America’s military families drives his commitment to this Board of Directors in support of the mission of the Fisher House of Boston.
